the verdict is in...

i officially hate weddings... well wedding planning. I like going to weddings that I am not a part of so I can get blitzed and not have to worry about anything. (especially ones that are serving cosmos)
I detest the fact that I am the only one worrying about anything... and everyone tells me that it will be okay, yet they don't do anything to help me see things getting done... The one thing that a bride hates to here is "you are getting worked up over nothing... it is not a big deal..." blah blah blah... WELL IT IS A BIG DEAL TO ME JERKY!!! get off your bum and do something...
So i took initiative and made a reservation for our wedding night... and a cool place that will let is check out later than normal... well guess who is driving someone, who is staying at my house, to the airport early in the morning...
and one wonders why i get stressed out...

I had my first Bridal Shower this past weekend... My sister Haydee came up from Cali, and she and my other bridesmaid Mary, Maureen, and Nicole cooked up an awesome party. But you know me, they told me very few details, kept me from actually trying to do or plan anything, and made me sit there and TAKE IT... It was very difficult to let go, but I had a lot of fun and appreciated all the great friends and family members I have! Here are a few pics (given that I was not the one taking pictures with my camera.. I had to take what I had... so they are all of my nephew Giovanni- who is much more photogenic than I will ever be!!!

My future sister-in-law Abby with Giovanni

My sister Haydee with her son G.
My brother's girl-friend Kalah and G.

Grandma and G. (too much excitement being the only guy allowed at the party... He was pooped!)
I have to tell you- every picture of me on my camera was (*&^$&#^%*) poopoo... edited for public viewing....
THANKS TO MY WONDERFUL FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!! YOU ARE THE BEST!!!

Two months down, two to go...

Well I am officially two months into school- new school is going great! Am already done with first high school volleyball season (these girls were so much fun to work with)... and I have two months (minus a week now) until my wedding... still so many things to do, yet many things already taken care of... I hope I can cruise into the season and now go crazy on my family... Sorry in advance...
Vegas was awesome with my girls Mandy, Maureen and Stella... we will all set up in a swanky suite at the Venetian Hotel (thanks Mandy), we hit the strip for drinks and shopping, saw a circue du soleil show (that was more awesome than the one I saw in Seattle), and lost all my gambling moolaa... (but it was only 7 bucks so cheaper than a movie...)
I celebrated my 30th birthday with a halloweenish party at my Mary's house, with lots of old friends from my old job and Moe (braved the old teachers club)... we played guitar hero and had a fire with smores....
My wedding dress FITS!!! thank goodness... still need to make sure it fits in two months, but I worked hard to get here.... I am going to be SMOKIN" at this shindig!!!

actually working on wedding...?

I can't believe that Jeremy and I have actually talked about wedding stuff in the last week... several times!
He has been researching for honeymoon locales... (yes!)
He made an appointment for getting a tux... and I get to take pics!
He has been asking about my shopping trips with mom... what we need... what he can pay me back for... (YES!)
I check out some florists- (pricey... :( ) so I think we will be getting creative with the costco flowers... but Jer said I can get whatever I want at the florist for my bouquet...
Meeting with dj and photographer this week... I still vote we set up a wii for rockband!
We ordered out invites last week and today I got an email that they have been sent to us... ALREADY! those will need to be put together...
My bridesmaids have been checkin' out dresses... I have found a perfect wrap for them!

Need to do list....
get booze figured out... (come on... it is a Catholic wedding)
practice with some flowers... (costco run)
figure out favors... (have no clue)
finish getting red candle holders (wiped out world market... need to wait)
find cute shoes...
find hair dresser...

Pure Craziness... can I get onion rings with that?

To rock band or not to rock band....

when thinking about wedding plans... one contemplates whether or not to have a dj or have a "friend" hook up an ipod and hit "play"
now pending a totally obnoxious playlist riddled with inappropriate tunes, once would think the later would suffice...
i say bring in the "Rock Band" (see picture featured at right...)
how fun would that be?
my family partakes in such frolics during holiday gatherings...
none of us can actually sing...
will have wine and beer at reception.
bring it!

Planning a wedding is FUN... yea just shoot me.

I have read an entire book about eloping and how easy it is to just say "forget you all, see you when we get back... MARRIED!!!"
I have already given up the power of the reception food planning... The whole "the knot.com" suggested checklist and time line tells me that I MANY THINGS past due to be completed... including catering contracts, photography contracts (though not too worried about that one yet... ) florist contract, music/DJ contract... Duties for Best Man and Maid of Honor... (like I even know who the best man is... (I hope he does...) Technically I could keep going...
I did register for gifts... it was kinda fun... went to Crate and Barrel... W/O the fiance... He is just interested in asking for money... ummm I don't think so. That is so weird to even ask for money. Do people really do that? I feel that to be very presumptuous. (I hope I spelled that correctly) I signed for for a cute trivet and new "matching" plates. I am tired of all our mixed matched chipped plates.
SO back to the eloping... I wish with an unlimited budget, I could invite my family and his family and we enjoy a vacation and ceremony on the beach... Then we can stay and they can leave. Oh wish... I should play the lottery... The Muck here I come.
